Meet Angelos, Headteacher at Menarano Primary School

Mr Angelos, Headteacher at Menarano Primary School

My name is Tahianjanahary Christien Angelos called Angelos. I’m the headteacher of Menarano Primary school. I’ve worked here for 3 years now.

Because I am not a civil servant yet, it is the parent’s association that pays my salary. It is a little bit difficult because many of the parents don’t have the means to pay their contribution and even if some of them paid it, it is not enough for our living. That’s why I have had to work in the fields farming because I need to take care of my family. It is difficult for me to organise these 2 tasks.

The support from Feedback Madagascar is a big opportunity for me because now I can pay someone to do the farming work and I am able to teach freely and don’t need to worry about my farming work anymore.

I can honestly say that my living conditions and my teaching job really improved due to this support because it is not just about the salary, we also received capacity building training too which is very important for my job.
