In the heart of Fianarantsoa, Madagascar, lives OZIFINY Ferdine, known as Ferdine, a 35-year-old whose work is helping to create change in her community. Ferdine is married with two young children.

Ferdine’s academic journey began at the Faculty of Sciences at Fianarantsoa University, where she studied Computer Mathematics for Social Sciences, culminating in a master’s degree. Her educational achievements, coupled with her experiences as a youth leader, ignited her passion for education and youth development. Ferdine has worked with Feedback Madagascar for 5 years channeling her expertise and passion into her role at Feedback Madagascar, where we are dedicated to improving the lives of the Malagasy people and protecting the environment. Here she tells us about herself and her role.

I am the Project Officer of the Education Programme at Feedback Madagascar, it includes high school student support and the teacher training project. I do the planning for all my team and our activities, monitoring the team and the beneficiaries of our project, I also report on all the activities to our donors.

My favourite parts of my job are, firstly, when I align all the activities that we have to the objectives of our project, secondly, I enjoy the time I share with young people and the results of all the hard work.

The impact of our work with the teachers means they are highly motivated due to the training we give them, and for the students, their school results are getting better because we support them financially and technically.
— Ozifiny Ferdine

Despite the successes, Ferdine remains deeply concerned about the state of education in Madagascar. She believes that the quality of education is deteriorating, a worrying trend in a country where education is seen as the key to change.

Education is the weapon that we can use to change the world.
— Ozifiny Ferdine

As she reflects on his journey, Ferdine expresses heartfelt gratitude to Feedback Madagascar and Ny Tanintsika for their unwavering support of vulnerable youth and teachers. She is hopeful that this support will not only continue but also expand, recognizing the significant positive impact these projects have on the community.
